For this project I worked with a team to design and develop a process for producing an object in bulk. The result was this mortar and pestle which is meant to evoke a japanese grinder. We made three variations, in hard maple, walnut, and cherry. The mortar and pestle is constructed by laminating three pieces of wood, two identical outer pieces, and a centerpiece with a cutout that allows the nesting of the pestle.
