This coffee table has an unsecured top which is balanced on two points and slipped under a retention bar. The weight of the cantilever secures the top and the top is fitted between the two vertical members that support the crossbar to prevent side-to-side movement. The coffee table is constructed from red oak, and the top is lightly fumed with ammonia. All of the joinery is done by hand.
